Santo Tomas is one of the most popular holiday resorts on the Island of Menorca. The long stretch of beach is broken up into various sections by rocky outcrops and is stunning with great views over the sea towards the neighbouring island of Majorca and at night you can enjoy spectacular sunsets from one of the waterside restaurants.The board walk stretches from one end of the resort to the other – a great place to stroll or access the beach. Situated next door to Villa Esmeralda Sol, Villa Julio is very close to the centre of Santo Tomas and the fantastic sandy beach which lies just across the road. The long winding promenade which runs parallel to the beach, offers a good choice of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants with fantastic views over the water. By day, enjoy a relaxing stroll along the beach stopping at any one of the waterside cafes to enjoy a drink or an ice cream. Or by night, enjoy a main meal as you watch the sun set over the water.

The beach is a stunning white expanse of sand, dotted with outcrops of natural limestone rocks creating natural rock pools, great for exploring. There are kayaks available for hire if you feel like a trip out on the water. The far end of the beach is backed with a natural back drop of fields and a valley leading up into the hills.

Also very close by are a number of hotels and apartment complexes with souvenir shops, boutiques and supermarkets where you can buy all the essentials or gifts to take home.

What Else is Nearby?

Villa Julio is ideally positioned for anyone not wanting to hire a car, but for those wishing to explore a bit further afield, Santo Tomas’ location on the central southern coast of the island means that anywhere in Menorca can be accessed within around a 30 minute drive. There is also a good local bus service which will take you to the main towns of Mahon and Ciutadella.

The quaint village of Es Mijorn is only 15 minutes away by car and is worth a visit with its’ local night market in high season.

A little further away is the town of Ferreries which has a local artisan museum and shops, and is home to the islands’ highest peak, Monte Toro. The peak has fantastic views over the whole island across to Majorca, a gift shop and a restaurant.
